5 Little Known Points That Might Change The Way You Think About The 3 Way Call

I’d been working my tail off all day long from early that morning.

I was in the grind.

You know that phase of your business where you’re working on breaking through for the very first time?

It Was 8 o’clock at night, and I’d finally come out of the office.
(if you could call it that).

It was actually like a 6 x 6 room in my single wide trailer house that was doubling as an office and a Storage room.

I always had to be careful because If I backed my chair up to far, i’d hit boxes and stuff on the floor and fall over.

In any case, I’d decided to call it a day to go out and spend some quality time with my family.

I sat down on the recliner with one of my kids cuddled up next to me under a blanket.

The movie started playing, all was well.

Then suddenly something happened, that ruined everything.

My cell phone rang.

I glanced down and saw that it was one of my team members calling.

I knew exactly why he was calling.

He had a prospect on the line and needed me to help him do a three-way call.

I got up from my recliner and left my child and the rest of my family to walk back into my little office prison, to do what I’d been taught to do.

The 3 Way Call (duu, duu, duu, ddddddduuuuuuuuuum)

We ended up closing the sale, so I guess you could say it was a success, and that the three-way call worked beyond our wildest imagination.

Or did it?

An owner of a Facebook group that I post content in, posed this question…

Should you do three-way calls or shouldn’t you?

What are the pros and cons?

In this post, I wanna share some of the pros and cons of three-way calls, in hopes of shedding some light, and helping you determine whether you should do them or not.

I definitely don’t have the last word on the subject…. All I have is a few years of experience building my business from home (and trying just about everything to make it work in the process).

The first question that I would ask myself, before deciding to do three-way calls or not, is – “what is my desired outcome?”

Most people would respond to that question —-> sales, so they can sponsor customers reps and win freedom.

I would encourage that person to perhaps consider adding a little bit of clarity to that response.

Is it really just sales and commissions you’re looking for?

And are you really willing to do anything and everything to get them?

You see if it was just sales and commissions we were after, there are millions of ways to accomplish that without even being in a home-based business.

In a home-based business, The goal is not just sales commissions and new team members – we’re also looking for freedom.

If you’re looking for sales commission and freedom – then how we answer that original question of should we do three-way calls or not, might be a tad bit different.

The 2nd question that I would ask myself, before deciding to do three-way calls or not, is – “are they absolutely necessary to build a big business?”

First I’ll speak from my personal experience.

The first good size downline I built, was absolutely built using three-way calls.

We built an active team of about 1400 people.

So the question of whether or not three-way calls work, I think is pretty conclusively answered, with an Emphatic yes!

I suppose now might be a good time to take a little diversion and list some of the pros or benefits of three-way calls.

Pros of 3 way calls

1. They increase the belief level of the newbie because the newbie knows that his or her sponsor will be there to back them up. This can be helpful and encouraging the new person to actually take action.

2. They allow the new person to leverage the authority and credibility of the sponsor.

Authority and credibility are two of the biggest factors and influencing people to make decisions.

3. They can deepen the working relationship between sponsor and team member.

I remember building my first big team, and I have to admit, it was kind of fun calling my sponsor three or 4 or 5 times a day, and bringing new team members in together.

My sponsor and I developed a really good relationship and are still friends to this day.

So they definitely can help solidify relationships within the group.

OK now onto the next question, is it possible to build and have success without them?

Again I’ll speak from personal experience.

On my current team, I have more success happening then I ever have in my entire life, by far.

none of what I’m about to mention is a guarantee of income – and of course, you can see the earnings disclaimer for this.

I have one couple that I personally sponsored who have earned over $1.7 million.

jv

I have another couple who have earned over $800,000 on my team.

hobbs

And as for six-figure earners, it feels like I have a whole army on my team.

One couple named Rob and Kimberly in Florida.

skinner

A guy in Israel named Vitali.

Kevin and Kim who have earned over a quarter million dollars.

A guy in the UK, who’s like 22 or 23, Who has earned over half a million dollars.

Another couple, named Brian and Rhonda, Who have had hundred thousand dollar months…

swanns

A gal in Australia who’s earned over $200K named Sarita.. George and Marissa, who’ve earned over $200,000. A cool dude named Travis who’s earned over $150,000

The list goes on and on.. (above is just a partial list)

All of the income stories I just mentioned, were all created in an organization without three-way calls.

So to me, from my own personal experience, I would have to say that yes lots of success can be created without three-way calls.

Maybe here’s a good spot to get into some of the cons of doing three-way calls.

The Cons of 3 way calls

1) they can create dependency in the new team member or foster a Situation where they feel that because their sponsor will always help them close sales, they don’t have to develop skills themselves.

I’m a firm believer that our greatest growth comes through our struggles.

It’s sort of like the story of the guy who sees a caterpillar struggling to break free from the cacoon, so with good intentions goes over and breaks the cacoon open to help it.

Little did he know that it’s in the act of breaking free from the cocoon that the butterfly develops enough strength to fly.

Sadly, The man has crippled the creature he was intending to help.

Maybe there’s a little bit of this happening in three-way calls.

2) Here is the biggest downside though. my mentor teaches that three-way calls can be an infinitely deep Time trap.

Think of it this way. Let’s say you get really good at three-way calls and Word gets around that when prospects get on the phone with you they join.

What do you think everyone on your team is going to do?

Yup, you guessed it.

Not only that, but now with every new team member you successfully sponsor into your organization…

You’ve brought in yet another person who now believes that the key to their network marketing salvation, is to get people on the phone with you.

Next thing you know, you’re answering phone calls, in the middle of the movie, while cuddling with your kids on the couch.

In the end, The decision to do three-way calls is really up to you.

If I were to decide to do them at all though, I would strongly consider putting limits on the times in which people could call and utilize them.

Maybe have a two hour block each day that you’ll be available for three way calls or something like that.

Otherwise it’s really easy for your life to get sucked into the bottomless abyss, of never ending prospects who are waiting to talk to you on the phone, before they get started.

And let’s be honest, that’s not really why you or I got into this business in the first place is it?

We got in this thing to be free.

So for me, if it’s possible to build a great income, and maintain freedom at the same time…

That’s the road I choose to travel.

A final benefit to not doing three-way calls, is now you get to give that gift to all of your team members too.

“Do unto others as you would have them do unto you” right?

What do YOU think?

Do you agree or feel that I am speaking network marketing blasphemy?

Would definitely love to hear your thoughts down below.
