Freedom Files #8 – Supercharging Sales & Super Powering The Soul

This blog post thing is becoming a habit.  🙂  Hope it’s ok that I’m coming to you via text versus video.

Of course both formats have their place.  Video can help you develop a closer connection with your prospects.

Text can give you time to articulate your thoughts AND can give your reader the chance to skip ahead without feeling like they have to consume everything you put out.

Any who – this week’s edition is coming to you a few days late.  (sorry about that).

I was pretty wrapped up putting in a couple new sprinkler systems for the newest additions to our passive income portfolio last week.

This why, so often, when people ask me what I do for a living – I want to respond with “Whatever it takes.”

Doing these sprinkler systems ourselves enabled us to save over $2,000 and gave our sons an opportunity to work, learn and earn some money.

This Week’s Marketing Corner

As you may know, the book of the month for September is…

In last week’s post, I mentioned the first big tip, which is to always make sure you’re giving an offer in all your business communications.

Here are a couple more great tips from this book.

There shall always be a reason to respond right now.

If you’re inviting someone to join your business or buy a product – It’s WAY more effective if you give them a reason to do it now.

The company I built my first 6 figure income with had a power-line portion of the comp plan where everyone in the company was placed down one straight line.

This meant that the longer someone waited, the less people would be in their down line when they joined.

A GREAT reason to take action now right?

And as if this weren’t enough – they limited the people who could join.

In the first 3 weeks of the month, each rep had 1 spot they could give a prospect and that’s it.

Another great reason for people to respond right now right?  If they don’t get started, they miss out chance to join and have all those people in their down-line.

This is a very powerful principle.

And you don’t need the right comp plan to apply it.

Special bonus giveaways that expire or run out when X number of people join.  This works well too.

If you’re building an email list – probably a good idea to do these types of promotions every now and then.

Give them clear marching orders

The next tip is to always be very clear on exactly what you want people to do.

Imagine your prospect is walking around in a dark room and trying to find the door.

If you can open the door and shine a flashlight onto their next steps – they are going to feel much more comfortable about moving forward.

Here’s how to apply this in marketing a home business via email.

A) Tell them exactly what you want them to do.

EXAMPLE:  If you’re open to taking a peek at a way to get unlimited $20 bills falling from heaven and into your bank account, watch this video.

B)  Tell them what to do next

EXAMPLE: If you like what you see, fill out this form immediately and click on the big green button that says “Place order now.”

C) Tell them what’s going to happen after they follow your instructions.

EXAMPLE: After you place your order, you’ll get an email from us giving you instant access to The HBA Funnel Builder Academy where you’ll be able to learn directly from myself and my business partner (each of us has earned over 7 figures from home) on how to get your first funnel in place in the fastest most simple way possible so you can be generating high quality leads and even be making auto pilot sales for your business.  WAHOOO!  – Additionally – I’ll send you the link to my personal schedule so you can book a fast start coaching session with me where I can help you one on one put together a plan to help you reach your income goals sooner rather than later.

See how when you tell them what’s going to happen next – there’s far less guessing and additionally – they know they will be supported AFTER they make the purchase, which makes them much more comfortable to go ahead with the purchase?

People don’t want to be left high and dry.

They want to be guided and if you let them know you’re there to guide them in the process, by giving them clear marching orders – sales can sky rocket.

Ok – that’s it for this weeks marketing corner.

Now on to…

This weeks personal development corner.

I want to talk to you for just a minute on the power of faith in your life and business.

The first words of the Old Testament say..

“In the beginning God Created…. ”

and

“The Earth was without form and void… ”

Regardless of your specific view on the Bible – there is GREAT metaphorical value in these lines.

“In the beginning of your better future…. ”

“In the beginning of your more profitable business… ”

“Your future was without form and void.”

Step 1 to creating something new is to form a clear vision of what it is you want to create.

Step 2 is to believe in it.

Depending on where you’re at in your journey – this can have differing levels of ease and/or difficulty.

Here’s what I’ve found.

In my younger days, when I knew less, it was much easier to believe.

Think Santa Clause.

Kids find it easy to believe in Santa.

The more a child grows, the more a child learns and experiences – and eventually – they get to a point where it’s impossible to believe in Santa in the way they did when they were a child.

In business, the same thing happens.

In the beginning – it can be super easy to believe.

Later on – after you see all the negatives and experience the heartaches that can come from building a business – it can be less easy to believe you can create a new future for yourself.

Why?

Because you now see all of the great reasons there are for not believing.

But that’s not faith is it?

I told my sons yesterday that faith is the animating power of life.

Napoleon Hill wrote, “Faith is the eternal elixir which gives life, power and action to the impulse of thought.”

Naive faith is believing it will work because you see always and only the reasons it can work without seeing any of the reasons it won’t.

And there’s great power there

Mature faith is seeing both sides of the coin – and choosing to believe anyway.

It’s knowing there is a negative side – it’s being aware that just as there are a million reasons not to believe in your better future, there are also a million reasons to believe in it – and then choosing to focus more on the reasons to believe – instead of the reasons not to.

I know, I know – easier said than done.

And yet, this is the task in front of us.

I posted this last week on Social Media…

Being OK with not having all the answers, or even having a few good reasons to not believe – and choosing to believe anyway.

Choosing to believe that there is purpose and meaning to our lives and businesses.

Choosing to believe that there is a positive, helpful and loving intention behind life and existence.

Choosing to believe that when you strive to do good and be good and  help people in the best way you can, rewards are waiting on the other side of that process.

Choosing to believe that when you’re life and business are in alignment with the infinite – you can’t help but move forward in a powerful way and that the rewards ahead are great and sure.

As Emerson wrote “The dice of God are always loaded.”

I’m learning that there is always plenty of bad to see in the world.

Plenty of un-inspiring things to think about and dwell upon.

And the reverse is also true.

In which soil will we choose to plant the roots of our souls?

It’s up to us isn’t it.

And the reward on one side of the coin is a faith that uplifts and inspires and animates our life.

That’s the side I want to be on as much as possible.

Thanks for reading my friend!

Upward and onward!

May you be prospered with unlimited passive income commissions, all the freedom your heart can hold and happiness and joy in all your endeavors and interactions.

  1. Paul – wow, so many great nuggets! The point that stuck out to me the most was “Whatever is takes”. That’s the mentality that I have adopted in my life, my music, and my businesses. Whatever it takes to succeed (that’s legal and ethical of course LOL) But I am sure you get where I am coming from. Basically, never giving up and having the faith that it will happen or even the faith to know that it is happening NOW as its the evidence of things NOT SEEN (yet). But in time, we will.

Another great nugget is always provide what you want your prospect/reader to do and then provide what will happen once they do. I love that, because there are many times when I simply didn’t respond to an opportunity because it was too vague and too many pieces I was unsure of. So this is great.

Thanks for all the great nuggets here. 🙂
