Magic Rocks

In our book of the month for December, The Magic, Rhonda Byrne talks about having a gratitude rock.

The idea is that each night before bed, you hold the rock in your hand and think back through all the great things that happened to you that day.

Then, you pick the best one.

As you’re thinking about the thing, holding the magic rock in your hand, you say sincerely “Thank you.

I want everyone around me to experience the magic, and so, I ordered this 2 pound bag of magic rocks from Amazon.

Last night before bed I visited each of my boys, 1 by 1, and let them pick out their own magic rock.

I told them that the reason these are magic rocks is that the more you use them, the more magical your life becomes.

I then explained to each of them that they could carry the rock around in their pockets and whenever they felt it, it could remind them to be grateful.

After I tucked my last boy into bed leaving him with thoughts of magic happenings dancing through his mind, I walked down the hall and I heard a whisper from Kayden (my oldest son’s) room.

“Dad?”

‘Yes son.’

Thank you.”  🙂

The magic had begun.
