The Awareness Police

We all seem to have our own view of the way things, people and business should operate.

It can be tempting to run around sounding alarms & raising awareness for danger zones.

When someone is in a business, that’s different from yours, pointing out the flaws can seem like a shortcut for helping others see the light.

I’ve made this mistake myself.

Here’s what I’ve found.

In most cases, people will do what they’ve decided to do, regardless of how strong your argument to the contrary might be.

Additionally, beliefs and conclusions tend to be the children of our own creations, which is why we protect them like a mother might protect a child.

If someone insults your child, how likely are you to keep them in your life?

How likely are you to do business with them down the road?

Not very, right?

So while awareness policing might seem like a fun thing to do at the time, and can be very gratifying to the ego, it doesn’t seem to be a very good strategy for long term influence and future sales.

Instead, strive to shine your light without leaving anyone in the shadows. 💫

PS – Special thanks to my friend and mastermind partner, Rob Skinner for the phrase “awareness police.”

  1. I agree Paul one can go back to that process which makes us aware of who is always in the middle of where one is at …YOU ..

Take your hand point it forward, then Point your Forefinger out and put your Thumb Up ..it looks like a gun and

What we, as people, tend to d, is to point every where at the process, the other person, the event , the training as to why, I, You , the Person , Self , are failing or struggling.

We forget to look at those other 3 Fingers folded back and pointing back at us … 3 of them What Can I Do, What Could I Do Differently, What Have I Done To Put Me Now Where I Am AT.

The issue rarely is others it is US .. Our Actions, Decisions, Thoughts, Beliefs , Results.. the Human Being is so Cool the Next Second Later One Can Take A Slightly Different Action or Decison and Change Ones Outcome ..

As Long As One Thinks About Solutions …Not Problems Not Excuses ..

P.S. Unless one is not Ethical or Hurting Someone …it is not worth ones expenditure of energy

    • Amen to that Donald! Great words of wisdom there!

Always fingers pointing back at us… That’s an oft repeated line in personal development, but to actually do it and have the realization, not as common. 🙂

Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing your thoughts!
