Independence Forever

For freedom crusaders, independence day here in the United States is a special day, not because of…

  • Our flag
  • Our ‘superiority’
  • Our perfection in the application of the principles  we champion

But rather,

Because we cherish ideas that inspire us, unite us and can serve as lighthouses to guide and direct the souls of all humanity.

  • The ideal that we as humans should be able to think, speak and act as we please – so long as we do no harm to those around us.
  • The ideal that ‘all men are created equal and endowed by their creator with certain inalienable rights.’
  • The ideal that we can learn, work, produce and enjoy the fruits of our labors

These are a few.

Each independence day we gather together on our morning mindset call, just like we did yesterday to reflect, remember and do our best to fan the flame of freedom and keep these ideas alive and well in hearts and minds.

You can listen to yesterday’s moving edition here.

I’m always inspired by the fact that John Adams ‘the voice‘ and Thomas Jefferson ‘the pen‘ were the last 2 signers of the declaration of independence to die, and that they both passed on within hours of each other on the exact same day – Independence day, July 4th 1826.

I wonder if this was a design of providence?

Here are some of their last words.

‘May it be to the world, what I believe it will be (to some parts sooner, to others later, but finally to all) the signal of arousing men to burst the chains under which monkish ignorance and superstition had persuaded them to bind themselves, and to assume the blessings and security of self-government…

All eyes are opened or opening to the rights of man.  The general spread of the light of science has already laid open to every view the palpable truth , that the mass of mankind has not been born with saddles on their backs, nor a favored few booted and spurred, ready to ride them legitimately by the grace of God.

These are the grounds of hope for others; for ourselves, let the annual return to this day forever refresh our recollection of these rights, and an undiminished devotion to them.’ -Thomas Jefferson

And from John Adams,

‘Independence Forever.’

  1. What a GREAT GREAT post! It reminds me of what is possible, and also that way back then we had freedom crusaders who wanted freedom for humankind.

  2. Oh how I love the reading from the John Adams book. I look forward to it and today’s reminder of our Declaration of Independence was just what I needed to look myself in the mirror, throw off laziness and get back in the race; back to my cause and declaration of financial independence. Thanks for the inspiration Paul.

    • So happy & grateful to hear that Nicole. I sure love it too. We toyed around with the idea of giving everyone the day off for the 4th, and I’m so glad we didn’t. For those who show up – it’s always a special experience. Thanks so much for helping us to make that mastermind such a special place! So grateful for you and the TAGR Family!
