Top 5 Quotes From My Old Journal + “I Send You Love”

Hey there my friend,

I’m writing this blog post from The Mystic Dunes resort in Orlando Florida.

Yesterday night I had a a 5 hour flight from Salt Lake City to Orlando and while I was on the flight, I reviewed one of my old journals to see if anything I’d written down might be useful to share from stage this weekend.

I ran across 5 powerful quotes…
Top 5 Quotes From My Old Journal

Quote #1

“Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom.  As nations become corrupt & vicious, they have more need of masters.” -Benjamin Franklin

I love this quote because it reminds me that money is only one part of freedom.

It’s not enough to create people who have money  – we have to create hearts and souls that are equal to the money.

This is one of the BIG reasons I love being a home business entrepreneur.

Quote #2

“Without faith in the future, there is no power in the present.” -Rick Martin

Such a great reminder to BELIEVE in the future.   Faith truly does have a MASSIVE impact on what we do today.  The more clear, and strong and beautiful our vision for the future,

..the more clear, and strong and beautiful our actions in the present.  🙂

Quote #3

“It became more obvious every day that no amount of money would ever make me happy.”  -Napoleon Hill

I’ve experienced in my own journey, that up to a point – money contributed HUGELY to my happiness.  Being able to pay off my mortgage, buy the things we want, save and invest for the future, all of these things contribute to my happiness.

I’ve also noticed that past a certain point – the degree of increase in happiness, does not increase proportionate the increase in money.  When this happens, we begin to look deeper.

And this leads us to…

Quote #4

“Learn this lesson once and forever, that you will find happiness only by helping others to find it.”  -Napoleon Hill

One of the biggest lessons i’m learning right now, in my life and business – is that I should focus on 2 things to have more happiness and joy in life.

Contribution and quality time.

If happiness comes from helping others to find it, through contribution and quality time – that means that we can be happy now, regardless of how much money we have or don’t have.

That has been a BIG breakthrough for me.

Quote #5

“There’s very few of us that understand how good, life really is.” – My Grandpa Fitzen

I love this quote because it reminds me to be one of those, who understand.

Quote #6 (bonus quote)  “Theres a lot more than money that makes up a leader”

-Corene Hutchings (my beautiful wife)

Isn’t my wife awesome?  😉  (love you honey)

This quote reminds me that leadership is about a LOT more than how much money you make.  A lot more.

Here are some thoughts on leadership I jotted down in my notes a few months ago.

You don’t need a title,

You don’t need permission,

You don’t need position,

…. to be a leader.

Leadership is a simple choice that says,

I see the way.

It’s clear, it’s beautiful.

The promised land is this way.

I see it.

Let’s go.

“Beautiful land with trees and fruits and animals and people who will welcome is as heroes.

The water gushing from the ground will be cold and pure.

It will sparkle as if sprinkled with diamonds.

🙂
