A Truckload Of Hammers

You see your neighbor pull in their driveway with a dump truck filled so full of hammers, some of them are spilling off to the side.

What do you think about this?

Slightly odd‘ you might say.

Evil?’ – probably not.

My neighbor must be a crook.’ – unlikely

Swap out the hammers for stacks of $100 bills and all of a sudden the story changes.

People tend to have all kind’s of negative beliefs about money.

I was taught that ‘Money is the root of all evil.’

Someone once told me ‘in order to have money, you must take from someone else and therefore – having lots of it is not a righteous way to live.’

Hammers can be used to build and they can be used to destroy.

And it’s the same with money.

Both are tools that can be used for positive or negative goals.

A truckload of hammers could be used to build a neighborhood of homes for homeless people.

Would we say to the driver of that truck, ‘you should have less hammers?’

  1. You know what Paul… Money being pretty close to oxygen is an understatement. The reality is that money can buy you more oxygen if you need expensive health care. It’s too close to everything… Especially oxygen as stated. Love this post and the content you’re sharing.

  2. My question would be why do you have hammers? We find the real reason behind their passion and create a trusting relationship that you can learn from. Find their true love as it is not evil to have money. It is the real evil to love money more than the Lord.

  4. Awesome thoughts Paul! This post reminds me of Bob Proctor talking about electricity. He said something to the line of a man can use electricity to cook, and electricity can also be used to cook the man. Lol!

With more, we are equipped to do more with our intentions.

    Thank you for sharing.

  7. Awesome thoughts Paul !!! If we let ourselves we tend to think the worst of our fellow man but in reality just about everyone is struggling to be a good person and treat others fairly. We have to train ourselves to not be skeptical of others and show the love. Give them the shadow of a doubt before we judge. Great post !!!! Boy am I EXCITED 🙂
