Hey there my friend, WELCOME and thank you SOO much for stopping in to read my post. Today, I want to share with you the,
Top 7 Questions To Ask Before You Join A Home Based Business
I really WISH I would have had a checklist like this before I got started building my business from home,
I believe it could have shaved YEARS off my journey to freedom.
I put this together for you because I want you to be able to profit from my mistakes, make the money you want to make and be free faster.
Here we go…
Question 1 – How much money have you actually made in your home business?
Asking this simple question can prevent you from making the same mistake I made for years. For the first 5 year in my home business, I ran around preaching a plan of how to make $40,000 a month in network marketing.
Then one day, something strange happened. I asked myself, of the people I’m following & listening to, which one of them is actually making $40,000 a month? Awkward inward pause….
Uhhh… Zero? Yup. Zero! Maybe this is part of the reason why I struggled my home business for so long. I changed mentors and within 6 months I was a top recruiter in my company.
This may seem pretty self-explanatory, but sometimes, in network marketing, you have a case of ‘the blind leading the blind.’ Make sure you know that the poeple you’re following and listening to, have credible results to back up what they’re teaching you.
Question 2 – How much money have your team members made?
Just because a person can make money, doesn’t mean they can teach you how to do it. Making money & teaching how to make money are 2 completely different skill-sets.
Asking this question, will ensure that you’ll be joining a sponsor who has a proven track record of duplicating results into other people.
Question 3 – How much money per customer, do I earn?
Sometimes I wonder if some leaders & companies intentionally try to confuse people with the way they describe their compensation plans. Almost like you have to be a mathematical genius to understand what all the percentages mean.
The bottom line is, how much money – per customer – do you earn for both recurring (residual) sales AND one time purchases within your team.
For example, In my company, we earn $100 residual per customer on recurring sales.
The answer to this question can mean the difference between you winning your freedom fast, or slow. The lower the number, the more work and time it will take to hit your financial goals.
Question 4 – What training & resources do you provide in addition to what the company provides?
One of the things you want to look for in a sponsor & team is Initiative & leadership.
Real leaders are always on the lookout for ‘holes’ in the training & real leaders go plug those holes for their team members.
Question 5 – How long have you been with your current company?
- Variation 1 – How many companies do you promote?
- Variation 2 – How many companies have you been in in the last 3 years?
Inexperienced, newbies jump from company to company to company constantly.
Sometimes top recruiters (different from team builders) do the same.
While it IS possible to build ‘multiple streams’ of network marketing income, it usually only works out well for the very experienced recruiter and & ends up BADLY for everyone else. Sponsors who know what they’re doing & care about their teams, rarely, if ever change companies.
Question 6 – Is all of your money made through the compensation plan?
Getting them to fess up the truth on this one, can be a bit of a challenge, but it’s important for you to know – if you can get at the truth. Sometimes, companies will offer ‘extra money and/or other types of incentives’ that are completely outside the compensation plan in order to entice leaders.
A variation of this scheme, is to offer leaders special positioning on top of a bunch of existing business. You want to know the truth on this, so you can be sure that your sponsor actually believes in the same opportunity he/she is leading you into,
…that they’re willing to be compensated the same way you’re gonna be compensated.
This can be a tough one to figure out, but if you can, get to the bottom of it.
You’ll thank me later.
Question 7 – What kind of activities will be required of me to make money with this?
This is a big one that new team members hardly ever think about. It’s important for you to know exactly what you’ll be doing to make the money. Will you be required to call your friends & family & pitch them on your new business?
Will you be putting flyers on parked cars every Friday night outside the movie theater while everyone else is relaxing & being entertained inside?
Will you be required to cold call people you don’t know & prospect for hours & hours – leaving messages on answering machines & getting hung up on?
Now, don’t get me wrong. I believe freedom is worth a bit of pain here & there, but painful stuff that doesn’t work, is where I put my foot down. You need to know this before you decide to get started.
So that’s it my friend.
