Wallace Wattles expresses in his philosophy, as outlined in books like The Science of Being Great and The Science of Getting Rich, that the world is perfect though not complete.
We are encouraged to look upon the world and it’s circumstances as that which is becoming.
The realist in us prods to rage against this injustice, that inequality, or all those negative circumstances.
How does this help?
Is it not true that making war with an enemy, only tends to enliven and embolden said enemy and simultaneously chase away tranquility?
Like a toddler screaming at a parent, so must we appear, rebelling against that which is.
What if life is a gift from God, and a key to unwrapping more of the gift, is to accept and acknowledge that which has already been given?
If God is perfect, as some assert, is it possible for an imperfect creation to emerge from a perfect intelligence?
When we see “imperfection” in the world around us, maybe it’s our personal definition of ‘perfection‘ that requires refinement.
Do not problems create opportunities?
Does not injustice strengthen our appreciation of justice?
Does not the fiery heat of tragedy often simmer up the best of the human soul?
Perfect for our growth, yet incomplete in destination.
Perfect, yet incomplete.
And so mote we be. 😉
Hey Paul, thanks for reaching out to me and your recent post. I have been on the replay call for the last month but have very much appreciated being to listen to it. Today’s “the world is perfect and in process” really gave me stuff to chew on. Thanks for sharing the quote/poem. I can’t remember if it was Chris sp? or Shache Zion at the end of the call talking about there are only two choices and it rang so true for me and reminded me of a Book of Mormon central question are there really only two churches. https://bookofmormoncentral.org/ the answere was not at all what you might think but related to today somehow.
Any how today’s discussion reminded me of this scripture and 2 Nephi’s “opposition in all things”
Wow it was a whole new vantage point the way they presented it and now today’s call and Chris or Sache’s (not sure of name’s spelling either ) comment reflected right back to that kind of idea – I had never considered it from that perspective.
It really is like Steve Covey said when you pick up a stick you pick up the other end – positive stick /perspective vs. negative stick/ perspective. You guys are all so awesome and really walk the walk. Thanks for all you do, sharing and being there keeping keeping on. –
