Yesterday as I was re-watching the replay of our round robin mastermind on blogging and reflecting on mistakes I’ve made in the past – I remembered 1 I didn’t mention on the webinar.
Taking myself & my work way too seriously.
At the end of the day, it’s just a blog.
That doesn’t mean it won’t have an impact, or help someone – it’s just a little permission to relax a bit.
I think, often, we put way too much pressure on ourselves.
Andrew Carnegie once told Napoleon Hill,
“Don’t take yourself too damned seriously, unless you wish to be damned by others.”
So next time you’re feeling the pressure for a meeting, phone call, video, post, webinar or whatever…
Relax and say yourself.
“It’s just a ____________.” and proceed with ease now that all the pressure’s gone.
Where did all that silly pressure come from anyway? 😉
May seem off topic but we have this saying at work that my boss uses all the time “It’s just staff work”.
If someone tries to get upset about anything we have to do, he will break out with that saying and my team breaks out and says it every once in a while when we get disgruntled customers or stressed people.
The reality is that most things in life is as big and as serious as you make it. There’s no time to stress over small stuff..
It’s just a blog!
Love it Robin! “Most things in life are as big and serious as you make it.” So very true!
BOOM
Yes!!! It is just a blog, and like Napoleon Hill said, “Ultimately, nothing really matters.”
When the pressure is off, we flourish.
Thanks for sharing!
When the pressure is off we do flourish! It’s hard to live in the moment and enjoy the process while being stressed over the outcome.
Oh man Paul you are so right! I’m trying so hard to do such a good blog that I need to take some time out and just relax because I got this and the support from a great team. thank you for this!
WAHOOO! You are on a great path Sarah!
