After 13 years in the home business profession, 1 one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is,
…If you you want to build an income that lasts, your business has to be planted in good soil.
The other day I spoke with a friend who had become the #7 income earner in his company.
I asked him why he made a change and you know what he told me?
One day, one of his top leaders called him up and said, “You’ll never guess what happened.”
Someone from corporate had called and told him a way where he could jump ahead in the genealogy and take a position above his sponsor.
“Sure, just get a new tax id number and we can re-enroll you above your up line.”
So he played along and sure enough, they helped him do it.
And that’s how my friend’s downline became his up line with the help of company ‘leadership’.
Bad soil
I love the parable of the wise man who build his house upon the rock.
You know the line?
When the rains came down and the floods came up, the house on the rock stood still.
The one who built on the sand had a different story.
When the rains came down and the floods came up, the house on the sand washed away.
This is the the major reason I decided to c0-found a company a year and a half ago.
It’s not because I ever wanted to be a company owner.
And it’s also, not because I think there aren’t amazing, principle centered leaders out there running other companies.
There are.
It’s just that after 13 years of experiencing things similar to what my friend Brett went through, I didn’t want to keep gambling with my future in the hopes that I’d pick the right one again.
There’s only 1 person in the world I know to the core, and that’s me.
I’m not saying I’ll always do the right thing – because I am human, and humans make mistakes – but one I think I think I can promise for sure, is that i’ll try.
Treating people the way you wish others would treat you in business relationships.
A core belief in this principle, to me, is…
Good soil.
And that’s where I want to plant and nourish my prosperity tree for the future.
