Tech Without Touch

I’m told that by the year 2030, will exist a robot with an IQ of 10,000.

Proponents of artificial intelligence prophesy of the ‘singularity’,

…a moment machine intelligence will surpass human intelligence.

Can they make a heart or soul to go along with those brains?

In today’s hyperlinked world, automation – the latest seduction.

Although sometimes profitable, the essence of something special seems to have been lost,

….drowning in an infinite sea of shallow connections.

My phone call yesterday to sing a friend a happy birthday song, doesn’t seem to be something that could be adequately replaced with an email.

The laughs and warm songs of soul that fell on my ears as i chatted with one of my best friends yesterday via phone,

… doesn’t seem to be something that could’ve been replaced with a voice broadcast.

Sometimes progress can be a circle that turns us back around to where we started.

And sometimes, maybe it’s good to slow down, to speed up for the long-haul.
