I was talking to a great friend yesterday who produced an amazing product that is really enhancing my life.
Because we are such good friends, he wanted me to have his product for free.
Because we are such good friends, and I’ve seen how much effort he’s put into this product – and because this product us truly helping my life – I wanted to pay.
As soon as his cart went live, even though I had a free account – I rushed to put in my credit card details and make the purchase.
As we had a fun argument yesterday on the phone as to whether or not he was going to continue to let me pay for the product, I told him…
I want this to be symbol for you that you and your work is valuable and that you deserve income from people for the value you’re adding to their lives.
I want this to be a symbol for you that you have your arms open, with gratitude – thankful for what’s coming and ready for more – because you deserve it.
For my part, I want this to be a symbol that I’m happy to send money back into the marketplace for products and services that serve people well.
I want this to be a symbol for me that I realize that much of the joy in money is found in it’s flow or exchange.
This is what I call – The Abundance Embrace.
The sender, sending in joy – and the receiver – receiving in gratitude and feelings of worthiness.
In my book, this is an essential part of financial literacy.
Seeing money for what it is.
No more, no less.
Experiencing joy and gratitude (not shame or feelings of unworthiness) when it changes hands in open and happy exchange.
