Wants are common, wills are rare.
Countless people have dreams of better futures.
The one’s who will do what it takes to make those dreams a reality, are much smaller in number.
I’ve been re-reading our book of the month for May, How To Read A Book, by Mortimer Adler and came across this little gem of a note I’d made in the column the last time I read it.
You can see I originally wrote the word ‘want’ and then scratched it out and added, ‘will be this man, no excuses!’
Tiny change in words, massive difference in outcome.
Who do you want to become?
What do you want to have?
What would you like to make of your life?
My belief is, it can all be so, if you choose to turn your wants into wills.
