Affiliate marketing any good? Yes, but only if you…

So, you’re sitting there at home on your computer wondering “is affiliate marketing any good?”

You want to make money right?  You know that the internet has the power to connect you with people all over the world.  You think, there’s got to be a way to make some cash online.

Well my friend, you are right.  Affiliate marketingg can give you everything you want, and more, if a few simple conditions are met.

You see, many people waste a lot of time struggling to make a couple bucks online while others, like Mike Dillard, make upwards of 12 million dollars in as little as 5 years.  What’s the difference?  What’s the secret?

4 simple steps that will make you answer “YES” to the “ affiliate marketing any good” question

1.  Set Up A Sales Funnel
A lot of newbies make the mistake of trying to market just 1 product or service. This is ok but it only allows you the chance to make money 1 time from each person.

If you’ve got the traffic game down and can get consistent streams of traffic, this is ok because you’ll have enough “new blood” coming across your message that the income will keep flowing.

A better approach, however is to develop a sales funnel. This simply means that instead of sending traffic to a sales page for 1 affiliate product, send all your traffic to a lead capture page where they give you permission to email them on a regular basis.

This allows you to build trust with these people, add value to their lives and make an unlimited number of affiliate offers to them. This way you really maximize the use of all the traffic by repeat sells.

Is affiliate marketing any good?  Absolutely if you use this approach.

2.  Find Some People That Have A  BIG Problem to Solve
This is key my friends. If you want to make sales, it will be much easier if your product or service provides a solution to a serious problem your target market has.

Why is this important? Well, if I have a fungus growing somewhere that is embarrassing to me, and you can cure this fungus, odds are I’ll whip out my credit card in a hurry. Pain is a big motivator for people and you need to tap into this with your affiliate marketing.

3.  Copy someone  else’s “copy” to get started 🙂

Copy, ladies and gentlemen, is salesmanship in print. You use it in every aspect of your online marketing. You use it to persuade people to give you their contact information, you use it to build relationships in your email marketing and you use it to convince your prospects to give you there money.

This is a skill that takes some time to acquire. If you are new to the affiliate marketing game, there are plenty of systems that allow you to “plug and play” so to speak.

Just make sure that you choose one that allows you to market yourself and not some other guru.

4.  Keyword Research = Digging For Gold

If you are using content to rank in the search engines for traffic, you MUST pick keywords that are high in demand and low in supply.

Many folks answer “no” to the “ affiliate marketing any good” question because they don’t know how to go about proper keyword research.  You can avoid that mistake.

You can use the free Google keyword research tool to come up with a large list of potential keywords. Once you have a big list, you can then use the Word tracker keyword reasearch tool to refine your list.

Word tracker costs about $50 per month but they have a 7 day free trial. My suggestion is to do as much as you can with the Google tool, then take the 7 day free trial to refine your list.

Eventually, as your marketing progresses, you’ll want to pay for the wordtracker tool as it will save you loads of time.
