Empty Ritual Recovery

Pistachios are a healthy snack that I love.

The shells are pretty much worthless though.

Maybe like things we do that are void of heart, soul, emotion & presence.

Back in 2009 an exercise changed my life.

Walking outside every day and proclaiming my definite purpose.

The belief it helped me build felt unstoppable.

Over time, goals came – goals went.

The fire wained but the ritual remained.

It had lost its power.

Yesterday I decided to reclaim it.

Back out to my driveway.

A purpose I’d set many years ago revived with a fire inside.

The breath of life back into my existence.

An empty ritual reclaimed.

A passionate soul recovered.

Maybe empty rituals are ok for helping to remind and remember.

But leaving them empty is a sure way to stay empty inside.

If you find yourself going through the motions, without the emotion – change something.

Get the fire back.

Lukewarm is no way to live.

And maybe, 1 simple decision can change it all.

  2. Thanks for sharing this great reminder that rather than just going through the motions, we have to fill our actions and intent with emotion to get the most out of anything we do!

  3. BOOM! Super powerful! I love the part how empty rituals can serve a purpose as a reminder, but they can’t stay empty. So true. Thank you for sharing Paul Wall!
