Get Response Vs Aweber + 3 Dynamite List-building Tips

Click a button, communicate with thousands of people.

What could be more attractive than that.

Ahhhh..

But wait.

There IS something.

Wait for it…

Click a button – Thousands of people see your sales message, and buy.

Ha ha, now THAT’S what I’m talkin’ about.

None of that happens without a list of subscribers,

and a list of subscribers/prospects doesn’t happen without an auto responder.

For those of you who are new to internet marketing…

An auto responder is just a service that stores all the contact information of the people who opt in to your pages and allows you to communicate with them all with a click of a button.

Pretty simple right.

This is one of the first things you  must understand and put into your arsenal when you begin to market your business online.

There are some super expensive auto responders out there.

There are some auto responders that don’t like home business professionals and online entrepreneurs.

There are some auto-responders that plain suck to use.

Bottom line, it can be a tad bit confusing when your starting out.

Never fear – The Freedom Crusader Is here!  😉

The 2 main choices for 99% of new online marketers is Aweber and Getresponse.

I’ve used both and in this article I wanna give you some quick things I’ve discovered in hopes that my experience can profit you in your choice of services.

But BEFORE I get to that.

Let me please demystify something and give you a 3 step formula that will serve you incredibly well as you’re building your online empire.

Build a list, send emails, sponsor people, make money —->  Sounds awesome right?

One little problem.

Ther’s a TAD more to it than that.

Not much.

But a tad.

And this can make all the difference between you succeeding beyond your wildest dreams and,

…your NOT making ridiculous sums of Pipeline Money, Beach money or whatever you wanna call that money that continues to dump into your bank account even after you stop working.

I learned these 3 tips from a Millionaire online network marketer.

He said,

“Paul, there are 3 steps to making boatloads of cash & sponsoring insane numbers of people online”.

Obviously, my ears perked up.

Here’s what he told me.

1)  Build a list

2)  Build a relationship with the people on your list

3)  Market to the people on that list

I wanted to give you these real quick because the reason most people fail to make money & sponsor reps online,

…is they totally skip step #2.

Stay with me here.

I’m not saying you need to pick up the phone and talk to all your prospects, one by one, although you’re welcome to do that if you want.

It just means to remember that these leads you’ll be getting, are not ‘leads‘.

They’re people.

Treat them as such.

Give them stuff to help their business.

Teach them things you’re learning.

And mix inside of that, some sales.

Follow these tips and I believe, you’re sure to win.

Ok, now on to the boring, techie stuff.

Getresponse vs Aweber

Let’s start with Aweber first.

1)  Aweber is a little anti home business now a days.

This just means that if they know you’re promoting an MLM, network marketing or some sort of bizop, they may reject your application.

You can get around this, just make sure you don’t make your plan known to them.

2)  You can’t import contacts.

If you have existing prospects and want to import them to a new Aweber list, aweber will send them an email on YOUR behalf, saying  “Hey, are you SURE you wanna be on this guy/gals list?  You’ll basically have to make them all re-opt in, which could cost you to lose lots of your contacts.

3)  I’ve used Aweber for years, but from what one of my team members, Mahara, told me – it’s not as easy and intuitive for new people to figure out as GetResponse is.

Now for GetResponse

1)  It’s quite a bit less expensive than Aweber especially as your list grows in size.

2) You CAN import contacts without having to ask them to re-subscribe.

3) Get response allows you to put cool little symbols in your email headlines that can help you stand out from the crowd.

Final Verdict On GetResponse VS Aweber

I own both of these services but for all the reasons listed above, I highly recommend GetResponse.

If you haven’t yet decided to buy it, you can pick it up here.

Have you used both Getresponse and Aweber?  What’s been your experience?  Would love to hear below.

Paul

PS – 2017 update... I now use an autoresponder contact management system that is more robust and less expensive that both GetResponse and Aweber.  It’s available for members of The Home Business Academy.  If you’re considering getting started with us in The Academy, you might hold off on Aweber & Getresponse so you can take advantage of our better solution.

  5. Thanks for sharing Paul. I was not aware that you could put symbols in the subject line. I like how you call out the fact that you need to build the relationship with your list as they are people.

  6. Thank you Paul! Very informative and entertaining. Massive value here! Love it. Yes I believe in building a relationship with people 🙂 It’s people behind everything. Not just an email or number. I believe if we respect and other that, that principle will respect and honor us in our business. Thank you for sharing.

  10. Such a clear and concise post breaking down the difference between Aweber and GetResponse. We have used both as well and definitely favor GetResponse. Love that you mentioned the importance of building a relationship with your subscribers/leads. So many forget that part and pitch, pitch, pitch which is a real turnoff. I’ve heard that you should offer 80% value and 20% sales. Thank you for being the leader you are and offering such great content to help the masses including us. Appreciate you immensely Paul!
