I had a great phone conversation yesterday with a successful friend of mine and we talked for an hour without pitching each other on anything.
Why?
Because relationships matter.
Relationships are an investment for the future that can have returns far greater than any short-term commission.
We talked about how so many in sales & network marketing seem to be skipping right over, would could be the most valuable step to building a great income from home – in a frenzied effort to pitch the world.
Today – my friend posted this on Facebook.
What’s interesting is reading the comment on this thread.
Some people instantly see how this is not the best strategy – but strangely enough – several people defend this strategy and say things like…
‘Well – if he does this enough – odds are some will say yes.’
That’s not the point.
The point is – If there is a better way – one that actually gets MORE yes’s & feels better, generates more goodwill in the marketplace and can lead to even MORE sales down the road – why not take the time to do that instead?
Sure – kudos to this guy for taking action – admire and respect that a ton!
Just saying – there’s a better way.
Jim Rohn said one time ‘If your life ever gets in someone’s book – make sure you’re used as an example, not a warning.’
In like manner – if your prospecting or business building strategy makes it onto someone’s social media news feed or blog post – same goal right?
