Intelligence

I read a great definition of Intelligence in a book one time.

The book was by Robert Kiyosaki and he was quoting his rich dad who said,

“Intelligence is the ability to make finer distinctions.”

Here’s an example.

I wrote a post a while back about using possibility words for more influence with people you’re endeavoring to serve.

The idea is that softer language tends to be more easily accepted by the minds of others.

Here’s a distinction though.

If someone has authority and/or rapport, they can tell you want to do with more forceful language and usually, you’ll be ok with it.

If you’re sick and seeking advice from your Doctor, they don’t need to use words like ‘might’, ‘could’, or ‘possibly.’

They can say to you, “Paul, you need to do this”, and odds are you’ll be Ok with the more forceful language.

It seems we like to come up with rules that work for every situation.

Intelligence helps us to remember that oftentimes, the little details can make a big difference.

Intelligence: The ability to make finer distinctions.
